About the Journal

The Nigerian Journal of African Studies (ISSN: 2734-3146) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of scholarly research on the diverse cultures, histories, languages, philosophies, and socio-political systems of Africa, with a particular emphasis on Nigeria and West Africa. NJAS provides a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary dialogue among scholars in the humanities and social sciences, including but not limited to African history, literature, linguistics, anthropology, sociology, political science, gender studies, and cultural studies. The journal is committed to advancing critical thought on African experiences, indigenous knowledge systems, and contemporary issues affecting the continent, while fostering intellectual exchange that bridges local and global perspectives. Through rigorous academic standards and inclusive scholarship, NJAS seeks to contribute meaningfully to the evolving discourse on African identity, heritage, and development.
